The Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence Pacific Partnerships (COSEE Pacific Partnerships) integrates marine research and education for faculty and students at community colleges and staff and volunteers at informal science education institutions. These audiences have been historically underserved by the ocean science community. We work to develop partnerships that enhance educational opportunities, provide professional development opportunities, disseminate knowledge about the ocean, and formalize models that can be applied elsewhere.
COSEE Pacific Partnerships is Dedicated to Three Broad Goals:
- Increasing the role of marine laboratory scientists in education and outreach
- Increasing educational and professional development opportunities for community college faculty, which in turn will increase the ocean literacy and career potential of community college students
- Increasing educational and professional development opportunities in ocean literacy for informal science educational professionals and volunteers
